Be the women who pave way for other women!
Mountains are the epitome greatness, strength, thunder and calm, bravery and the smoothness. If, or not, you are a woman you can relate all these things to yourself.
Bachendri Pal - India's First women to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world at 8,848m. A women who broke barriers to do and see what she wanted to.
In 1984, she became the first Indian woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. She was awarded the third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan by Government of India in 2019.
"My life had two Everest's" says Pal.
"First was for myself, to test my limits, to discover myself.
"Second was for youth, for women. So that they don't face what I had to face."
The urge , strength, will and power of one woman to reach the limits of sky gave power to many more in the future.
At age 13, Malavath Poorna, became the youngest girl in the world to climb the Mount Everest, she proved that brilliance has nothing to do with age.
Santosh Yadav from Haryana reached the peak first in May 1992 and then in May 1993. Apart from this, she is the first woman to climb Everest from Kangshung face, which is considered to be the most difficult side for ascent. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2000.
Premlata Aggarwal - A mother of two, this woman climbed the Everest at the age of 48 and with this, she became the oldest woman to climb Mt. Everest. Her list of achievements doesn’t end here. She is also the only native of Jharkhand to go on such an expedition.
Arumina Sinha, who lost her left leg in 2011 when she was thrown off from a moving train by thugs. It was her inner strength to do something unique that motivated her to conquer Mt Everest. 2 years after the incident, she became the 1st Indian amputee to climb the loftiest mountain in May 2013.
And the list goes on in respect of every women who took it in her heart to be a mountaineer.
For every women who dreams of being a mountaineer, who loves trekking, who fights battles everyday, who work their strength out to be what they wish for and who never give up.
